“I paint the world as feel it.”

Glenn Roberts has worked in various areas of the graphic arts for over

50 years. After earning his BFA from VCU, Glenn taught art, joined a sign painter shop, opened his own shop, managed the screen print department for a regional label company, opened his own screen print/sign shop and all through this painted his own art whenever time allowed. He closed his shop and “retired” in 2020 and moved it into his garage. He still does the occasional screen print or cut vinyl sign job but painting now comes first.

Glenn is a native of northeastern North Carolina and the area

shows up in much of his work. The Currituck Sound and the northern Outer Banks are frequent subjects. Work boats and waterlilies, egrets and herons will often be represented. You will however find the occasional mountain scene possibly with an old truck, barn or stream center stage,

He has been working in oils but after joining the Southside Artist Asspociation in August 2025 he has been encouraged to work in watercolor. This lead to his joining the Chesapeake Bay Watercolorist in late December 2025.
